Transport Coordinator Inbound – SKF Automotive Business Italy

In this role, you will play an important part in securing reliable inbound transport flows and the availability of raw materials across our Italian factories. By combining logistics expertise, stakeholder collaboration, and a strong focus on cost, quality, and compliance, you will help keep our operations moving. What you can expect in the role

  • Interpret transportation requirements from internal requesters, considering location, deadlines, packaging, urgency, and other constraints.
  • Determine the best transportation solution through quotation, negotiation, and technical validation.
  • Implement and justify the chosen solution, provide technical arguments, obtain requester approval, and propose alternative solutions when needed.
  • Closely monitor, follow up, and coordinate inbound transports, overseas or road, with forwarders and factory Supply Chain, including operational mitigation actions during disruptions.
  • Prepare and transmit all required documents and information to carriers and suppliers, such as bonded warehouse operators.
  • Manage transport disputes, including delays, accidents, loss or damage of goods, insurance deductibles, expert assessments, claims, insurers, and quarantine measures.
  • Evaluate carrier performance by analysing cost trends, service quality, and customer satisfaction, recommending continuation or termination of partnerships.
  • Advise internal units in Italy/EMEA, investigate finance-detected cost anomalies, and monitor invoice correctness and completeness with FOC, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with international transport regulations and operational conformity, including customs, embargoes, sensitive goods, and transportation flow improvements to enhance agility and efficiency.

You will enjoy working here if you have:

  • Relevant academic background, completed training in the field, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of logistics processes, including Supply Chain Management, with an understanding of major transport modes and distribution strategies
  • Proficient in logistics systems, SAP/TM, and performance measurement tools
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including advanced Excel.
  • Fluent in English

You will report to Samuel Guichard, Manager Transportation & Packaging EMEA, who is located in St. Cyr, France.
