What working for us will look like on a day-to-day basis:

As a Transport Controller, you will play an important role in ensuring our high-quality products are delivered safely, on time, and as efficiently as possible. Your work will help our customers receive the circuit protection and power distribution systems they rely on every day. Working closely with colleagues, suppliers, and customers, you will build strong relationships and make a direct contribution to the success of our business by helping keep people safe and critical operations running.

You will be based, on-site, in Glasgow and your core working hours will be Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 17:00 and Friday 08:00 to 12:30, with flexitime being part of our working hours.

In this role, you will

1. Become the driving force behind our transport operation. Ensuring our high-quality circuit protection and power distribution systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time. Every shipment you coordinate helps customers receive the products they depend on, supporting essential infrastructure and keeping businesses, communities, and critical operations running without interruption.

2. Build strong partnerships that keep our supply chain moving. You’ll work closely with colleagues across sales operations, planning, production and warehouse, as well as directly with customers and external stakeholders; freight forwarders, transport suppliers and the Chamber of Commerce, creating trusted relationships that enable seamless communication, quick decision-making and excellent customer service. Your ability to solve problems and coordinate multiple priorities will make you a valued partner across the business.

3. Drive reliable, cost effective and compliant transport solutions. You’ll support improvements in transport performance, identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve service levels, to and strengthen our operations and help achieve our customer and business objectives. By using data and insight to make informed decisions, you’ll play an important role in improving efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance and customer satisfaction.

4. Champion safe, compliant and reliable transport solutions. You’ll ensure our transport operations meet UK and international legislation, company standards and industry best practice. Through careful planning, attention to detail and proactive risk management, you’ll help protect our people, our customers and our reputation while ensuring every delivery is completed safely and responsibly.

5. Make a meaningful contribution to our continued success. Your work will directly support business growth by delivering reliable, cost-effective transport solutions that customers can depend on. By balancing operational excellence with commercial awareness, you’ll help strengthen our reputation for quality, reliability and service, ensuring Terasaki continues to deliver products that keep people safe and power critical industries around the world.

What success looks like:

In your first 12 months, you’ll embark on a hands-on journey to build a deep understanding of our business, our customers and the products we manufacture. During your first 2–4 weeks, you’ll receive training on our internal processes, export requirements, transport compliance, and the systems we use (primarily Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), alongside other systems used for reporting, transport management and operational processes). You’ll also be introduced to key colleagues across the business, our transport partners, and organisations such as the Chamber of Commerce, giving you the relationships and knowledge and confidence needed to make an impact quickly.

As you grow, you’ll take ownership of our transport operations. Using your existing transport expertise, you’ll soon be coordinating national and international shipments with confidence, ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with UK and international transport legislation. As your understanding of our operation grows, you’ll become a trusted point of contact for colleagues, customers and logistics partners alike.

You’ll also play an important role in shaping how we improve and evolve. By analysing performance, identifying opportunities and bringing fresh ideas, you’ll help optimise transport processes, improve service levels and support cost-effective solutions that strengthen our wider supply chain.

And this is only the beginning — as you progress, you’ll have opportunities to broaden your expertise across transport optimisation, compliance, cost management and longer-term planning. Working closely with teams across Sales Operations, Warehouse, Production and external partners, you’ll continue to develop your commercial understanding and play a key role in supporting the future growth of the business.

What you can bring to Terasaki:

·        Strong knowledge of UK and international transport legislation

·        Experience in transport planning, scheduling, and management

While not essential, the following experience and qualifications would help you thrive in this role:

·        A recognised freight/logistics qualification, such as CILT or an equivalent professional certification.

·        Experience managing transport budgets and identifying opportunities to improve cost efficiency.

·        Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or similar ERP systems, supported by strong IT and systems skills.
