Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Traffic Operator role located in Motherwell. The Traffic Operator will be responsible for organizing and managing the daily logistics operations, including the scheduling and allocation of vehicles, liaising with drivers and customers, monitoring deliveries, and ensuring the timely and efficient movement of goods. The role involves maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements while providing exceptional customer service and responding promptly to queries. Additionally, the Traffic Operator will work closely with the team to optimize operations and resolve any logistical challenges effectively.
Qualifications
- Experience in logistics coordination, scheduling, and freight management
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to liaise with drivers, clients, and teams
- Proficiency in administrative tasks, attention to detail, and knowledge of compliance regulations
- Familiarity with transportation management systems and logistics software
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address operational issues promptly
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices
- Previous experience in rail freight or container logistics is advantageous
- A positive attitude with adaptability to learn and develop within the role
