What we are looking for:

M-B seeks a self-motivated, detail-oriented Traffic Engineer PE to join our rapidly growing office in Buford, Georgia. We prefer candidates with 10 years of experience in traffic engineering projects in Georgia and beyond. A Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within six months is required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for engineering design plans, performing complex calculations, and designing transportation/traffic operations, including traffic signal design, roadway illumination, and ITS components. While much work is independent, collaboration with supervisors and other engineers is essential.

Note: This site is not accessible via public transportation; reliable transportation is required.

How you’ll make an impact at M-B as a Traffic Engineer:

The Traffic Engineer will perform various transportation engineering tasks, including:

Planning, design, data collection, evaluation, and analysis activities.

Calculations for material and labor estimates, expenses, survey data, and engineering computations.

Development and assistance in creating Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E), including:

Traffic level of service and safety analysis;

Communication network plans;

Concept of Operations documents;

Roadway lighting and traffic signal plans;

Traffic management and control plans;

Signing and pavement marking plans.

Depending on experience, duties may also include supervising staff, client interaction, and participation in marketing activities. CAD drafting in Micro Station is a key component of the role, and knowledge of desktop technologies and communication software is required. Familiarity with photometric analysis software like AGi
32 is a plus. Limited travel may be necessary.

What it takes to be successful as a Traffic Engineer:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Georgia PE license or ability to obtain within six months.

Proficiency in CAD (Micro Station); knowledge of Open Roads Design is a plus.

Experience with computer networking design is preferred.

A valid driver’s license is required.

Physical ability to perform site inspections and work in various conditions.
