Our client is a Singapore-based minerals and resources company with global operations across Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. As an integrated bauxite producer and supplier, they provide end-to-end services, including bauxite mining, offtake, trading, logistics, and delivery. In addition, this company has a strong track record in commodity trading, managing a diverse portfolio that includes coal, copper cathode, iron ore, and nickel.

Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end execution of international trade transactions, ensuring compliance with trade agreements, regulations, and company policies.

Prepare and oversee all trade documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and letters of credit, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Coordinate logistics and shipping, collaborating with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation.

Identify and mitigate risks associated with trade operations, such as currency fluctuations, geopolitical factors, and transportation challenges.

Oversee trade finance processes, including letters of credit and timely settlement of transactions.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and key stakeholders.

Stay updated on international trade regulations, sanctions, and compliance requirements to ensure adherence to all relevant laws.

Determine and negotiate Incoterms for each transaction, clearly defining delivery responsibilities between buyers and sellers.

Ensure quality control measures are in place to meet specified standards and customer expectations.

Facilitate seamless communication between internal teams and external trade partners.

Address and resolve trade-related issues, including disputes, delays, and quality concerns.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Additional certifications in trade or logistics are advantageous.

1-2 years of experience in trade operations, international logistics, or a related field; experience with trade finance instruments is a plus.

Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, documentation, and logistics processes. Familiarity with trade finance instruments and risk management strategies.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy in handling trade documentation and compliance matters.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative and adaptable approach to changing market conditions, regulations, and business needs.

Proficiency in relevant technology tools and systems.

May require to travel to West Africa for work purpose.
