Nippon Express Europe GmbH is looking for a dedicated and experienced Trade Compliance Manager specializing in Ocean Freight to join our team. This position is pivotal in ensuring our compliance with international trade laws and regulations while facilitating seamless logistics operations. As a key member of our ocean freight team, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and implementing compliance programs that support our global operations.
Key Responsibilities:
The Trade Compliance Manager for Ocean Freight supports the Ocean Freight product division by validating, overseeing, and educating users on operational regulations. The main responsibilities involve:
Evaluate and enhance business processes to optimize operations and boost productivity
Conduct training sessions & KPI’s to monitor the operational compliance such as ENS (ICS2), AMS, ISF, ACI, AFR, Bill of Lading compliance etc
Promote continuous improvement through the standardization of procedures and training initiatives
Enhance data integrity and ensure process efficiency.
Identify route causes and act as and escalation and resolution point for questions relating to process change
Pinpoint and address opportunities for process enhancement
Provide training for new projects and enhance operational KPIs at the country level
Conduct Training Needs Analysis and tailor training materials to meet local requirements
Disseminate best practices across other countries
Monitor and resolve issues as the escalation point for regions and customs
Manage the ENS submission platform by overseeing user accounts and reporting activities
Requirements
Degree in Logistics, International Business, or Freight Forwarding Apprenticeship
5-10 years work experience in an ocean freight organization
Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and NVOCC
Demonstrated analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal; additional languages are a plus
Proficient in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
Good knowledge of CW1 (preferred)
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex regulatory environments
