LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Trade Compliance Officer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and stable manufacturing organization. Candidates will have access to all facets of manufacturing. The ideal individual will have expertise in Tariffs specifically affecting products bought and sold by our client from Mexico and Canada.
Worksite Type: 100% Remote with possible travel to facilities.
Position Summary:
The Trade Compliance Officer ensures businesses adhere to import and export regulations, minimizing risks and facilitating smooth international trade by understanding complex laws, tariffs, and sanctions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Stay current with import/export laws, regulations, tariffs, and sanctions
Oversee documentation related to shipments.
Ensure correct product classification according to regulatory guidelines.
Identify and mitigate trade compliance risks.
Monitor compliance activities and internal controls.
Advise internal stakeholders on trade compliance matters.
Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance.
Assist with obtaining and managing licenses and permits.
Implement and maintain sanctions screening programs.
Analyze trade policies to identify cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline.
In-depth knowledge of Mexico, Canada, and US export/import laws.
5-10 years of experience in customs/global trade.
Operational experience in export/import operations and risk management.
Ability to hold and maintain Government clearances.
Background in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Experience in interpreting and providing guidance on Canada, Mexico, and US export/import regulations.
Experience in providing training on Mexico, Canada, and US export/import laws.
Integrity, flexibility under pressure, and ability to work independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
Effective communication and leadership skills.
Worksite Type: 100% Remote with possible travel to facilities.
Pay: $50-55 per hour or Market Rate.
