LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled General Manager of Rail and Safety to oversee and streamline our rail terminal operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our rail terminal meets its operational and production targets while fostering strong relationships with customers and managing a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with robust leadership skills and a knack for problem-solving.
Travel – 75%
Salary up to 100K base plus a potential 10% bonus
Must have RAIL OPERATIONS EXP
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the main point of contact for customers, addressing their needs and concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
Supervise a team of operational staff and supervisors, ensuring effective management and high performance.
Plan and adjust staffing levels based on operational requirements to meet fluctuating demands and business needs.
Execute daily operations and work closely with the VP of Rail Services to ensure smooth rail operations.
Oversee and manage yard planning to optimize terminal efficiency and productivity.
Conduct interviews, select new team members, and ensure they receive the necessary training and support.
Maintain positive working relationships with local union leaders to support a collaborative work environment.
