Company Description
Ingram Marine Group is seeking a shore Tanker person or those interested in becoming a Tanker person Trainee to join the CFS shore-based team in our St. Louis, MO location. You will be required to live within an hour’s radius for consideration, due to schedule.
During training, you will be based in Gallipolis, OH, Wyatt, MO, or Paducah, KY until May. Accommodation and travel expenses will be reimbursed if accommodations are not available on a quarters barge or boat.
What You Will Be Doing:
Ensuring safe crew, vessel, and tow operations using Ingram’s and Custom Fuel safety systems, including audits, drills, investigations, safety contacts, and safety log postings
Managing fueling operations, including fuel, lube, slop, and water transfers, and all aspects of CFS fueling and supply operations
Assisting in boat inspection and maintenance, both externally and internally
Providing navigation assistance as directed by the captain
Carrying out barge inspections and maintenance
Responsible for facility housekeeping, maintenance, supply requisitions, and inventory control
Assisting in the safe operation of forklifts, cranes, and other equipment needed in operations
Ensuring compliance with USCG, Custom Fuel Service, and IBCO policies and procedures during fueling operations
Maintaining necessary paperwork to ensure compliance
Maintaining personal hygiene and cleanliness
Assisting in facing and unfacing the boat from barges as needed
Working safely and following all safety rules and practices
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Mate or Lead person experience highly preferred
Ability to operate safely aboard a vessel and perform necessary tasks within safety guidelines
Ability to respond quickly to unexpected situations and safety concerns
Ability to identify and employ appropriate safety practices to manage risks
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Basic mechanical aptitude
Basic computer skills
Schedule
10/5, 12-hour swing shift
