As we scale, we’re exploring ways to diversify our supply chain, improve efficiency, and enhance sustainability.
We are seeking a Project-Based Supply Chain Consultant to help us identify new manufacturing and assembly opportunities, optimize freight and logistics costs, and explore new product development sourcing.
About the Role
This is a strategic, project-based role focused on:
Exploring new manufacturing options in Asia to diversify production.
Evaluating the possibility of U.S. assembly for key product components.
Developing a “fast and expensive” vs. “long and cheap” supply chain strategy to give us more flexibility.
Optimizing freight and logistics costs, securing better shipping rates, and improving lead times (currently ~6 months).
Conducting early-stage sourcing for a new travel sunrise alarm clock made from leather and metal.
Ensuring quality control, tolerances, and sustainability remain top priorities across all sourcing decisions.
This role is ideal for someone who has experience managing international supply chains, negotiating with overseas manufacturers, and improving cost efficiency while maintaining product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Global Sourcing Expansion – Research and vet new manufacturers for potential production.
U.S. Assembly Feasibility – Explore options for assembling components domestically.
Cost & Lead Time Strategy – Develop a dual-tier supply chain with a “fast and expensive” option and a “long and cheap” option to optimize speed vs. cost.
Freight & Logistics Optimization – Secure better shipping rates, reduce delays, and optimize inventory management.
New Product Sourcing – Begin supplier identification and sourcing for a travel sunrise alarm clock made from leather and metal.
Sustainability & Materials Sourcing – Ensure all new manufacturing and supply chain decisions align with our commitment to natural materials and ethical sourcing.
Quality & Tolerances – Maintain strict quality control and testing standards to ensure consistency and minimize defects.
Tariff & Compliance Management – Ensure all import/export processes are cost-efficient and compliant with regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of experience in supply chain management, sourcing, or logistics, preferably in consumer products.
Proven experience with international suppliers (especially China and/or Pakistan).
Expertise in freight, logistics, and lead time optimization.
Strong negotiation skills for securing better rates with manufacturers and shipping providers.
Experience with U.S. assembly feasibility studies is a plus.
Understanding of sustainability initiatives, natural materials sourcing, and ethical supply chain practices.
Familiarity with quality control standards, tolerances, and product testing protocols.
Comfortable working in a fast-moving, project-based environment.
