Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Straight Truck – Non CDL role based in Atlanta, GA. The driver will operate straight trucks to complete local and regional pick-up and delivery routes, ensuring timely and secure transport of freight. Daily tasks include loading and unloading cargo, verifying shipment documentation, maintaining accurate delivery records, and communicating with dispatch regarding schedules, route changes, and service issues. The role also involves performing basic vehicle inspections, reporting maintenance needs, adhering to safety procedures, and following all company and roadway regulations while representing Ground Air ATL professionally with customers and partners.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and experience operating straight trucks or similar commercial vehicles.
- Strong route planning, time management, and basic navigation skills to complete pickups and deliveries efficiently.
- Ability to safely load, secure, and unload freight, including handling materials and using pallet jacks or related equipment.
- Attention to detail for accurate paperwork, shipment verification, and compliance with company and transportation regulations.
- Effective communication and customer service skills to interact with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers in a professional manner.
- Commitment to safety, reliability, and punctuality, with the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed.
- Physical ability to lift and move freight and spend extended periods driving or working in warehouse and loading environments.
- Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or local P&D operations is preferred but not required.
