Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Cargo Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a diploma in any industrial major, logistics, or warehouse management, complemented by a minimum of three years of related experience in cargo inspection and logistics operations. The Senior Cargo Inspector will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, safety, and compliance of cargo operations, adhering to industry regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed inspections of cargo and shipping containers to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Conduct pre-loading and post-loading inspections, documenting findings and ensuring any discrepancies are addressed appropriately.
Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to develop and implement effective inspection processes and best practices.
Provide training and support to junior inspectors and other staff regarding safe handling practices and cargo inspection protocols.
Maintain accurate records and reports of inspections, findings, and corrective actions taken to ensure accountability and transparency.
Ensure compliance with all safety and Hazcom training requirements, actively promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
Analyze inspection data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
Stay informed about industry developments and changes in regulations related to cargo inspection and safety standards.
Participate in safety drills and firefighting training exercises as required, ensuring readiness in emergency situations.
Qualifications:
Diploma in any industrial major, logistics, warehouse management, or a related field.
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in cargo inspection, logistics, or warehouse operations.
Strong understanding of safety regulations, Hazcom training, and fire safety practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to diverse teams.
Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and inspection reporting software.
Certification in cargo inspection or related field is a plus.
