PURPOSE
The Specialist, Pricing & Competitive Analysis supports Mitsubishi Motors Canada's vehicle pricing activities through competitive pricing monitoring, pricing analysis, pricing administration, and pricing communications. The role is responsible for tracking competitive vehicle pricing, developing pricing recommendations for management approval, implementing approved pricing changes within company systems, and maintaining accurate pricing documentation and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
This role reports to the Manager, Product Strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Competitive Pricing Analysis
Competitive Pricing Monitoring
- Monitor competitor vehicle pricing, freight charges, package pricing, and market positioning within the Canadian automotive market.
- Maintain competitive pricing databases and reports.
- Identify pricing trends and changes that may impact Mitsubishi's market competitiveness.
- Prepare regular competitive pricing summaries and presentations for management.
Pricing Recommendations
- Conduct pricing analysis and develop recommendations for new model years, pricing adjustments, and special editions.
- Prepare supporting analysis and business cases for management review and approval.
- Assess the competitive impact of proposed pricing actions.
Pricing Administration & Systems
Pricing System Maintenance
- Maintain vehicle pricing information within the Order Management System (OMS) and related systems in accordance with established controls and JSOX requirements.
- Implement approved pricing changes, including MSRP, package, option, and accessory pricing.
- Validate pricing accuracy across systems and documentation.
Pricing Data Administration
- Maintain pricing-related tables and charges required for ordering, invoicing, and vehicle documentation.
- Administer applicable government fees, freight, PDI, and other approved pricing elements.
- Maintain documentation supporting pricing approvals and system updates.
Pricing Communications
Pricing Guides
- Prepare and maintain vehicle price guides in English and French.
- Ensure pricing and specification information is accurate, complete, and reflects approved pricing decisions.
- Coordinate the timely distribution of pricing information to dealers and internal and external stakeholders.
Pricing Information Management
- Communicate approved pricing changes and effective dates to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain pricing records, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Support pricing-related information requests from internal departments and dealers.
Reporting
Competitive Pricing Reporting
- Produce routine and ad hoc reports on competitive vehicle pricing.
- Monitor and report on Mitsubishi's pricing position within key market segments.
- Support management reporting and decision-making through pricing analysis and insights.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-4 years of experience in pricing, sales operations, business analysis, automotive operations, finance, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Marketing, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with data analysis, reporting, and business systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing large volumes of data with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
