What does a Sourcing Consultant do?
The Sourcing Consultant will be responsible for analyzing and compiling data for negotiations, selecting carriers, freight forwarders, or suppliers, conducting sourcing assessments, and managing the negotiation process and contract coordination. They will administer contracts, rates, and online routing tools, ensuring that the database and online contract amendment tools are up-to-date. The consultant will handle issue escalation with carriers, freight forwarders, or suppliers to ensure smooth operations. Additionally, they will conduct internal and external training sessions or seminars on sourcing topics, data tools development, and data analysis or metrics development. Regular delivery of metrics and reports will be required to ensure that suggested sourcing solutions and processes are being followed. The consultant will also input relevant data necessary for tracking processes and keeping the necessary parties informed, ensuring there is a written record of the process of each negotiation. Finally, they will develop and maintain good relationships with clients and the carriers, freight forwarders, or suppliers they work with.
Position Details:
Location: United States – Remote
Work Schedule: 40 hours, 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday (some weekend / after-hours support / on-call rotation may be required)
Position Classification: Full-Time; Salaried Exempt, Entry-Level
Compensation: $50,000 – $60,000
Physical Demands: Sitting, typing, walking, and talking on the phone.

Preferred Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field required

Responsibilities:
The Sourcing and Consulting – Sourcing Consultant will serve as the primary liaison for clients in interactions with carriers, freight forwarders, and suppliers, as outlined in the scope of work documents provided to clients. Key responsibilities include:
Negotiations: Analyze and compile data for negotiations, select carriers, freight forwarders, or suppliers, conduct sourcing assessments, and manage the negotiation process and contract coordination.
Contract Administration: Administer contracts, rates, and online routing tools. Ensure the database and online contract amendment tools are up-to-date.
Issue Escalation: Handle issue escalation with carriers, freight forwarders, or suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
Training and Development: Conduct internal and external training sessions or seminars on sourcing topics, data tools development, and data analysis or metrics development.
