OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Yard & Infrastructure Site Supervisor will oversee site works related to yard development and supporting infrastructure. This role ensures proper execution of earthworks, utilities, and internal logistics areas, while coordinating closely with contractors and other disciplines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will be responsible for overseeing all land-based structures, including roads, trestle, pavements, utilities, etc., in conformance
- with Contract, the technical specifications and the approved detailed design.
- To be available on-site full time.
- To be committed to a team ethic with client, his colleagues and contractors to check that the work is satisfactorily completed within time and cost and to the required technical standard.
- To be responsible for monitoring the quality of materials and workmanship, through the impartial observation of testing, where appropriate (e.g. concrete mixes, concrete as delivered & placed, pavement layers as placed and compacted etc.)
- To check lines and levels in general.
- To check piped and cable services installations, including associated equipment.
- To attend inspection requests by the Contractor and provide either Go ahead with the work or generate noncompliance reports if the inspected work is not satisfactory.
- To assist in ensuring that defects are satisfactorily remedied during liability period.
QUALIFICATION:
- Must be a registered Civil Engineer with a minimum bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- Must have a minimum of 15 (fifteen) years of cumulative experience in Experience Civil Engineering and thereof a minimum of 6 (six) years related to the construction of yards and other infrastructure within port.
- Must have served in a similar capacity on at least 2 (two) construction projects of similar nature and have experience in supervising the construction of civil construction.
- Must be preferably a full-time employee of the Consultant for at least 2 years.
- Fluency in written and spoken form of English is mandatory.
