Job Title: Shuttle Driver

Facility: Windsor

Reports to: Terminal Manager

Summary of Position:

AWC Operations Canada (AWCC) performs many logistics functions. Some of these are real-time yard management, real-time data transfers, real-time vehicle direct locating, dealer delivery, import/export preparations, rail car preparation and switching, rail car loading and unloading, and extensive assembly plant operations.

Shuttle Drivers are responsible for inspecting vehicles for damage and driving customer vehicles within the warehousing yard in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Functions, Duties and Tasks:

Enter a shuttle and be taken to, or walk to a customer vehicle

Ensure vehicle is scanned for inventory

Park the vehicle in designated location

Make sure the left tire is parked on the line (inside)

Leave at least 10″ minimum between bumpers

Turn all accessories OFF (e.g., radio, heat, AC, windshield wipers, etc.)

Put sun visor in upright position

Make sure all windows are up

Put the driver’s seat in the back position

Place the keys in designated area

Make sure seat protection is completely covering the seat

Make sure there is floor protection, and it is straight

Fold in side-view mirrors

Complete and sign all relevant paperwork

Turn the vehicle off and exit the vehicle without causing damage

Repeat above for duration of shift

Ensure yard quality standards are maintained

Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities Required:

Exhibit behavior and conduct that fosters a positive work atmosphere

Ability to interact with others effectively and communicate diplomatically

Ability to read, write and interpret documents (e.g., locations cards, work orders, vehicle identification numbers)

Ability to effectively react to change and work in a variety of situations

Ability to adhere to quality standards and safe work practices

Education, Experience, and Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma, or equivalent

Minimum one year driving experience

Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles

Valid full G driver’s license

Communicate in English

Subject to Background check including Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Record Check

Working Conditions:

Work primarily conducted outside – must work, drive and walk in all types of weather, including extreme weather conditions

Work at a fast pace, getting in and out of vehicles during a typical 8-hour work period as a Shuttle Driver
