USM Aerostructures is a small, specialized, close-knit aerospace manufacturing company. We focus on high-quality sheet metal components, professional welding, and aerospace assembly. We are looking for a reliable Shop Assistant to support our daily shop operations.
Position Summary:
As a Shop Assistant, you will play a vital role in keeping our facility running smoothly. You will handle a variety of hands-on tasks and support our manufacturing team.
Key Responsibilities:
· Execute various manual labor tasks and special facility projects as assigned.
· Unload incoming deliveries and freight trucks safely using a forklift.
· Assist production by deburring, smoothing, and polishing manufactured parts.
· Move company vehicles around the facility grounds as needed.
· Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the building and surrounding grounds.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
· Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift, and carry heavy objects.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with basic hand tools.
· Versatile team player who is eager to assist across different departments.
· Previous forklift experience is highly preferred but not required.
