Description:
The Shipping & Receiving position is responsible for coordinating daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient movement of materials and products.
Responsibilities not limited to:
Shipping & Receiving Coordination
- Coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities.
- Communicate with the Production and Warehouse Supervisors regarding shipping schedules, deadlines, deliveries, and related issues.
Shipping
- Review order documentation, including part numbers and quantities.
- Prepare, package, label, and expedite shipments.
- Complete required shipping and freight documentation.
- Rate shipments and arrange carrier pickups.
- Maintain adequate inventory of shipping materials.
- Maintain accurate daily and weekly shipping schedules.
Receiving
- Coordinate the unloading, inspection, and routing of incoming shipments.
- Inspect deliveries for damage and shortages and document discrepancies.
- Reject damaged items and coordinate resolution with suppliers and carriers.
- Process defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use shipping software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate shipments in a fast-paced environment.
- English proficiency required; Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing/machine shop environment.
- Ability to work additional hours as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
