OVERVIEW:
Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team-oriented individuals for our fast-paced warehouse.
As a Part-time Shipping associate, you will facilitate the movement of products throughout our distribution center. Responsibilities include organizing outgoing orders, loading products into trucks manually, with a pallet jack, or forklift. This is an entry-level position based at our distribution center located at 6003 Guion Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46254. After onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals, flexible scheduling may be available.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operating computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label products.
Inspecting products for damage and documenting discrepancies.
Sorting products into correct locations.
Stacking products efficiently.
Consolidating, loading, and unloading shipments.
Using load truck reports to locate products for outgoing shipments.
Ensuring proper load securement for transport.
Verifying products are correctly labeled for identification and delivery.
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area.
Complying with health, safety, and sustainability rules and expectations.
Participating in activities and programs that support health, safety, and sustainability objectives.
Learning, passing, and practicing environmental health and safety trainings.
REQUIRED POSITION
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 years or older due to job nature.
Proficient in written and oral communication.
Proficient computer skills.
Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service-oriented.
Strong math skills, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule and extra hours as needed.
Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
Ability to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages weighing 25-50 lbs, up to 100 lbs.
Pass the required drug screening (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam).
PREFERRED POSITION
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience operating a forklift.
