Description
As a Shipper Representative / Key Account Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving business success alongside the sales and operations teams, focusing on managing and expanding existing accounts. You will serve as the direct contact between the client, carrier, shipper, and receiver, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
Leading a dedicated team of three, your primary objectives will be to optimize service performance, enhance customer satisfaction, and foster continuous improvement both internally and externally. You will implement tailored solutions to boost efficiency, deliver added value, and maximize profitability across customer supply chains.
By utilizing team resources and working closely with your manager, you will ensure that operating procedures, key performance indicators, and account metrics are consistently met.
Major Responsibilities
Develop and grow existing business in conjunction with sales & operations staff
Fostering close relationships and developing opportunities with existing customers to achieve growth
Processing orders and quotes for sales representatives & assigned customer accounts
Maintain overall positive client experience
Provide collaboration with the Carrier Sales team to streamline processes
Conduct root cause analysis and implement proactive solutions to improve service levels
Manage performance expectations through customer account metrics
Facilitate the successful on-time pick-up and delivery of the clients goods
Be readily available to address concerns and provide solutions to customers and carriers with any problems that may arise
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years experience in a role with direct customer interaction
1-2 years previous experience in transportation, logistics, warehouse or distribution
Excellent phone etiquette and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Strong problem solving skills
Ability to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results
Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
Clear and confident communication
Ambitious and enthusiastic attitude
Flexible & strong prioritization skills; able to change focus quickly to meet demands of market conditions and company needs
