Our client is a leading UK Maritime Services provider with global presence, market leader on its field. To cope with their continuous expansion, their Hong Kong office is currently seeking for high calibre individual to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

Market Development & Client Relationship Management

  • Identify and approach potential clients (shipowners, charterers, traders, cargo interests, counterparties).
  • Maintain and grow relationships across assigned markets and customer accounts.

Origination, Sourcing & Fixture Negotiation

  • Source suitable vessels and/or cargo requirements and work toward fixture agreements.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, including (as applicable): freight/charter rates, duration, laycan/port ranges, loading/discharge windows, demurrage/laytime, and contractual terms.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (operations/chartering support, legal/compliance, finance, technical) to ensure deals are executed efficiently.

Commercial Execution & Deal Administration

  • Ensure fixtures are documented accurately and in accordance with market practice and company procedure.
  • Monitor deal outcomes (e.g., performance issues, deductions, claims) and provide feedback to improve future negotiations.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Track market trends, vessel supply/demand, route economics, and rate movements.
  • Prepare and deliver internal reports and client-facing updates as required.

Risk, Compliance & Professional Standards

  • Adhere to internal policies on compliance, sanctions checks, and documentation standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure that all transactions are handled ethically and in line with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Degree holder from a credible university/ relevant qualification
  • Around 3-6 years experiences in shipping/chartering/broking
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to approach problem solving
  • Ability to work under time pressure and deliver in a fast-moving environment.
  • Proficiency with standard business tools (e.g., MS Office).
  • Complete fluency in Chinese and English is a must
