Description and Responsibilities:
My client is seeking a Senior Transportation Manager for their US distribution network. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Leading the corporate outbound department responsible for the transportation of goods from the company owned distribution centers to the retail stores.
Leading the build-out/use of the under-utilized Blue Yonder (BY TMS) Transportation Management System.
Building a quarterly routing optimization plan based on changing needs.
Utilizing Appian Routing software.
Being responsible for training, developing, mentoring, guiding a new team.
Being a cultural leader for the company’s values and mission.
Finding and leading lean continuous improvement projects throughout the supply chain stream.
Identifying gaps in the TMS and being able to close said gaps.
Qualifications:
The qualified candidate will possess most of the following traits:
10+ years of experience in a retail transportation environment.
A Bachelors and preferably Master’s degree.
Experience with outbound logistics from a distribution center network.
Experience setting up a routing plan, and using the appropriate software’s to do so.
Experience with Blue Yonder Transportation Management software is a major plus.
A solid history of developing other promotional level.
Experience with LTL, FTL, and parcel modes of transportation.
Working with stores to ensure customer service levels are met or exceeded.
Experience with both contracted and private fleets.
