Job Description
Jurong Port’s multipurpose port operating expertise includes efficient handling of general, bulk and containerized cargo, management and operations of the Tuas Offshore Marine Centre, and Lighter Terminals in Penjuru and Marina South. Besides Singapore, Jurong Port is involved in overseas joint ventures in China and Indonesia. In 2016, Jurong Port’s local and overseas terminals handled close to 35 million tons of general and bulk cargo, and 560,000 TEUs of container cargo.
The Job
Berth Planning & Vessel Vetting (Office Hours)
Vet new vessel profiles and berth applications via JP-Online.
Assign cargo codes, storage, and crane allocation for berth planning.
Maintain and update vessel records, including verification with Lloyd’s or Ship Registers.
Prepare and issue daily notices (e.g. ICA advice, vessel schedules, stevedore violations).
Handle berth application documents and correspondence.
After-Office Hours / Night Shift / Weekend & Public Holiday Duties:
Pre-assign vessels and allocate berths for late applications.
Monitor pilot orders, ETB/ETU timings, and wharfside indicators.
Manage email communications and update berth applications on behalf of agents.
Review previous shift updates and brief the next shift on outstanding matters.
Support IT projects, including system testing and user feedback.
Provide guidance to team members when needed.
Requirements
Diploma in Maritime, Logistics, Supply Chain, or GCE O-Level with relevant experience.
At least 5 years of experience in port or shipping operations.
Good knowledge of port procedures and systems.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Able to work independently and lead when required.
Willing to work shifts, including nights and weekends.
