The position is central to the cargo vertical’s core functions of making BLR the most efficient and one of the largest cargo hubs in India by building an integrated cargo logistics hub of international standards. The position would provide the cargo vertical with support in airline marketing, trade route development and promoting the BLR Cargo offerings to the airlines and marketplace. This position will strategically position the airport amongst the airline community for the air cargo business vertical and guide the airport in terms of air cargo business development and freighter route development.
Formulates and oversees efforts to increase the cargo air service to BLR Airport including domestic, charter, international/domestic and scheduled international service.
Leads airport uplift capacities and airline relations activities from a cargo perspective, including marketing research and studies.
Develops and implements strategies to increase utilization of domestic and international cargo services.
Interfaces directly with planning and scheduling development decision makers at air carriers targeted for new service and carriers currently serving BLR Airport.
To enhance relationship existing Freighter/Airlines at KIAB and in order to develop additional airline business & network, to maximize aeronautical revenues.
Development of business cases for potential domestic and international services.
Hub development of Cargo at BLR Airport KIAB by working on different products (connectivity, solutions) of supply and demand development
Assists in development of marketing materials in collaboration with the marketing team.
Represent BLR Airport in tradeshows and sales solicitation programs related to development of increased cargo traffic.
Collaborates with the marketing team to determine advertising programs to promote new flights or key markets, including assistance in budget justification for such advertising.
Engage with airline offices at station level and head office level to determine their service needs, successes, and challenges.
Lead efforts of having effective cargo MIS and data as support towards business development and internal analysis
Plan and manage the annual cargo traffic forecast, plan and execute the airline engagement activities during the year.
Cargo data availability and development
Develop cargo Revenue and tonnage for the airport
Coordinate with all the internal stakeholders within BIAL to resolve conflicts and outstanding issues on behalf of cargo stakeholders.
