We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented International Logistics Manager to oversee international distribution center operations, outbound documentation, customs compliance, and shipment tracking. This role ensures the efficient movement of goods across borders while maintaining regulatory compliance and optimizing logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities:
International Logistics & Compliance:
Manage international distribution center operations, ensuring timely and accurate outbound documentation.
Oversee customs compliance, staying updated on regulations and ensuring proper documentation for all shipments.
Track and monitor outbound international shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any shipping delays.
Track and monitor domestic shipments from suppliers to the 3PL distribution center, ensuring smooth inbound logistics.
Maintain the routing guide for 3PL distribution center shipments to specific countries.
Serve as the primary contact for critical order and shipment updates, providing timely communication to internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with transportation suppliers to request and approve quotes as needed.
Address shipping delays, invoice discrepancies, and missing shipments.
Trade Compliance & Invoice Management:
Strong understanding of customs documentation and the ability to generate and review commercial invoices for accuracy.
Expertise in resolving invoice discrepancies related to harmonized codes, ECCN, unit of measure, and other compliance factors.
Ability to issue corrected invoices for overages, shortages, or missing shipments.
Monitor invoices to ensure they are properly completed and in open status, enabling accurate AR downloads, tracking updates, and timely customer invoicing.
Experience working with trade compliance software to manage international shipping documentation and regulatory requirements.
Strong analytical skills to research and resolve trade compliance issues using data management tools.
Regulatory Compliance & Government Programs:
Stay informed on government programs and regulatory changes affecting export shipments.
Ensure compliance with evolving international trade regulations and customs requirements.
Canadian Logistics Responsibilities:
Oversee import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
Provide missing invoices to customs broker as requested.
Audit shipments to ensure broker clears goods under the correct entity.
Receive and review statements from Canada border agencies.
Request cheque payments, obtain managerial approval, and submit payments.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
10 years of experience in international trade compliance, transportation and freight management, logistics warehousing and/or operations.
Strong knowledge of international trade compliance, import/export regulations, customs documentation, and commercial invoice requirements
Experience with trade compliance software data management tools, and freight tracking systems.
Understanding of harmonized codes, ECCN, and customs classification.
Strong proficiency in problem-solving and invoice auditing.
Awareness level of hazardous materials.
Working knowledge of and experience with ERP systems.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to audit shipments for compliance.
Effective communication and collaboration skills across internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or advanced degree
10+ years supply chain experience; with practical work experience in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or related discipline
Exceptional quantitative analysis skills; including a working proficiency in corporate supply chain, procurement, quality, and/or process management experience
