Role Description
The Senior Operations Officer will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of global coffee trading operations. This role ensures seamless contract execution, inventory management, compliance, and customer satisfaction across multiple regions. You will work closely with trading, logistics, finance, treasury and quality teams to deliver operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Trade & Contract Execution
- Manage end-to-end execution of global coffee purchase and sales contracts.
- Ensure accuracy in contract terms, quantities, inventory, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Maintain and reconcile data in internal systems, support audits.
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and verify shipping and trade documents (invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin, quality certificates, permits, etc).
- Ensure compliance with global trade regulations, Incoterms, and internal processes.
Logistics & Coordination
- Coordinate freight booking, truck and vessels to ensure on time delivery.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve trade escalations and delivery challenges.
- Monitor and report on operational metrics, KPI’s, and risk exposures.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key contact for internal customers and external partners.
- Provide timely updates and ensure excellent service experience.
Process Improvement & Risk Mitigation
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to optimize trade operations and strengthen
- governance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade or related field.
- 3-5 years in supply chain operations, preferably in commodity trading coffee or agricultural commodities.
- Proficiency in trade execution platforms (CTRM) and ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of international logistics, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
- Experience in working with logistics and warehouse service providers.
