The City of Huntsville’s Sanitation Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Sanitation Worker.
About Our Department
The Sanitation Division is responsible for providing garbage collection to residential and commercial customers, as well as collecting trash, yard waste, and bulky waste for Huntsville’s residents.

Position Overview
This role involves manual work in collecting residential garbage, trash, and other solid waste in containers, bags, and cans. The job requires frequent heavy lifting and occasional exposure to adverse weather conditions. Work is performed as part of a team assigned to a truck, under the supervision of a crew leader.
Qualifications and Requirements
Experience in heavy manual labor or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides knowledge of refuse and trash collection methods.
