Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Logistics (freight-forwarding) Sales Manager role based in Riga, Latvia. The Sales Manager will oversee end-to-end logistics operations for a freight-forwarding department, coordinating with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective cargo movements. Responsibilities include sales function as well as managing shipment planning, vessel scheduling, documentation, and execution, as well as resolving operational issues and delays.

The role involves developing and maintaining customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, preparing quotes and proposals, and supporting contract negotiations. The Sales Logistics Manager will also monitor market trends, freight rates, and supply chain performance to optimize routes, improve service quality, and support strategic sales decisions.

Qualifications

  • Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact effectively with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven Sales experience in logistics and freight-forwarding with the ability to develop business and manage key accounts. Existing customers willing to follow you onto your new positions is a must.
  • Practical knowledge of freight-forwarding is a must.
  • Experience with shipment planning, documentation, and coordination of international cargo movements.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail for assessing freight rates, costs, and performance metrics.
  • Ability to work on-site in Riga, manage multiple priorities, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and MS Office.
  • Fluency in English; additional regional languages are an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Maritime Studies, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience would be considered as an advantage.
