Job Description
We are looking for a Road Freight Director to join our team in Istanbul, Türkiye. As Road Freight Director, you will play a pivotal role in establishing, managing, and scaling road freight operations. Your focus will be on building a strong regional connectivity network between Türkiye and Europe, starting with groupage (LTL) operations and expanding into full-truckload (FTL) capabilities. This is a high-impact role that offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence and create cross-border efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of international and domestic road freight operations, including scheduling, routing, and load planning.
Oversee dispatch and execution of groupage and FTL services in key corridors between Türkiye and Europe.
Optimize service levels, delivery timelines, and cost performance across the network.
Coordinate with cross-dock hubs and port infrastructure to ensure seamless cargo flows and handling.
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with subcontractors, and logistics partners.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as EBIT, delivery times, load factor, cost per shipment, and gross profit.
Ensure accuracy in shipment tracking, billing, and performance analysis via transport management systems (TMS).
Provide strong management and leadership to a team of nine direct reports, promoting collaboration and development.
Your Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in road freight operations, ideally in a multinational or multi-country environment.
Proven expertise in LTL (groupage) and FTL shipments, including subcontractor and third-party carrier management.
Working knowledge of transport management systems (TMS) and performance dashboards.
Fluent in Turkish and English (additional languages are a bonus).
Strong communication skills: articulate and tactful in delivering facts.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
Detail-oriented with a knack for getting things right the first time.
