Job Description:
The Production Control & Expediting Manager is responsible for coordinating and driving execution of all customer delivery commitments throughout
our Manufacturing’s operations. This position serves as the central communication and accountability point between Sales, Purchasing, Molding, Wire Processing, Kitting, Logistics, Shipping, Engineering, Quality, and manufacturing operations in both North Carolina and Mexicali. The position maintains visibility of production schedules, material availability, capacity constraints, and shipment requirements while identifying potential delays before customer impact occurs. These individual drives accountability, follows up on commitments, tracks action items, and communicates daily status updates to management and operations teams.
This role serves as the company’s production ‘air tra0ic controller,’ ensuring alignment of priorities, accountability for commitments, and timely execution across all functions to support customer delivery performance.
Role and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Serve as the primary owner of customer due dates, shipment commitments, production priorities, schedule adherence, and escalation of critical issues.
• Coordinate and communicate between Molding, Wire Processing, Kitting, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Sales, NC Shipping, Mexicali Production, Logistics providers, Customs brokers, and related support functions.
• Track open work orders, production schedules, material shortages, supplier deliveries, safety stock levels, inter-company shipments, customer requirements, production bottlenecks, and recovery activities.
• Coordinate weekly production meetings including documenting action items, assigning ownership, following up on commitments, monitoring completion status, escalating unresolved issues, and communicating progress updates.
• Monitor movement of materials and finished goods between facilities, inbound and outbound shipments, freight status, customs activity, and expedited shipments as needed.
• Provide regular communication regarding production risks, late work orders, material shortages, customer concerns, recovery plans, premium freight requirements, capacity
• concerns, and shipment status.
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards for on-time delivery performance, premium freight costs, late orders, supplier performance, inventory concerns, and open action items.
• Drive continuous improvement e0orts related to communication, scheduling, production flow, inventory management, and overall customer delivery performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position may initially have no direct reports but is expected to provide leadership, coordination, and accountability across multiple departments and functions.
Required Skills
Strong sense of urgency, organizational ability, communication skills, problem-solving, critical thinking, follow-through, attention to detail, multitasking ability, leadership without direct authority, proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Customer on-time delivery performance, past due work order reduction, premium freight reduction, action item closure rate, material shortage reduction, schedule adherence, safety stock accuracy, customer escalation reduction, and production recovery effectiveness.

Required Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Minimum five years of manufacturing experience required. Automotive or OEM manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
Experience with MRP/ERP systems, production scheduling, supply chain coordination, and cross-functional communication required.
Experience with Visual Manufacturing preferred.
Working Schedule and Requirements
• Exempt / Salary
• Full-time, on-site in Snow Hill, NC.
• Standard hours Monday–Friday (7:15am – 4:15pm) additional hours as needed to support all shifts.
• Must be available for emergency production support when required.
