Are you an experienced freight forwarding pricing professional with strong air and ocean freight expertise?

We are looking for a Pricing Specialist to join a dynamic Benelux team and play a key role in supporting commercial growth across a broad international network. This position covers a wide scope of work, from smaller accounts to key accounts, as well as prospects, agents and overseas offices, with shipments moving to and from destinations worldwide.

The role

As Pricing Specialist, your mission is to support the commercial team in building accurate rate studies and managing air and ocean quotations through to conversion.

You will begin with an onboarding period to learn the company’s tools, processes, systems, cost structure and operating approach, ensuring you are fully equipped to succeed in the role.

Key responsibilities

  • Propose the best air and ocean solutions and rates across FCL, LCL, consol and cross-trade
  • Source and negotiate spot and contract rates with carriers, co-loaders, airlines and hauliers
  • Secure space and validity where required
  • Prepare and coordinate tenders and RFQs
  • Maintain rate bases and surcharge tables including BAF, CAF, GRI, PSS, ISPS, FSC and SSC
  • Support the sales team with offer validation, follow-up, advice and retention activity
  • Drive quotation conversion by tracking win/loss reasons and sharing market intelligence
  • Adapt pricing policy with management in line with market conditions, competition and local constraints
  • Manage a portfolio of agencies and handle internal network requests, including import quotes, nominations and cross-trade
  • Ensure CRM data quality and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Track KPIs daily by product and trade lane
  • Escalate commercial opportunities and actions to management

You will work closely with regional teams, head office support functions and a wider international network.

Profile

  • Experience in freight forwarding, with hands-on air and/or ocean pricing
  • Strong understanding of Incoterms, tariff structures and surcharge mechanics
  • Commercial instinct with strong margin discipline
  • Able to work fast and accurately under pressure
  • Proficient in Cargowise and Excel
  • Fluent in English; Dutch, French and other network languages are an advantage
