Role Description The Pricing Manager – Freight Forwarding is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining competitive pricing strategies for ocean, air, and land freight services, in line with market conditions and company objectives. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing carrier rates and tariffs, preparing quotations for customers and partners, and negotiating rates with shipping lines, airlines, and other service providers. The role also involves coordinating with sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure accurate costing, margin management, and timely responses to pricing inquiries and tenders. The Pricing Manager will monitor market trends, maintain pricing databases, and support management with regular reports and recommendations to improve profitability and service offerings.
Qualifications
- Solid understanding of freight forwarding, international logistics, and transportation modes (ocean, air, and land).
- Experience in rate analysis, tender management, and margin calculation for logistics or supply chain services.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and Excel skills, with the ability to interpret market data and carrier tariffs.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for working with carriers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple pricing requests, and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field; relevant freight forwarding experience is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP or TMS systems and standard industry documentation and compliance requirements.
- Attention to detail, commercial awareness, and a collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork.
