JOB SUMMARY:
The Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating the movement of freight and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining efficient communication with drivers and clients. This role requires strong organizational skills, a keen ability to problem-solve, and a thorough understanding of transportation regulations and logistics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
Coordinate and schedule shipments, ensuring optimal routing and timely delivery.
Monitor and track vehicles in real-time, providing updates to drivers and clients.
Communicate effectively with drivers, addressing any issues or delays.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, delivery times, and vehicle maintenance.
Work closely with logistics and operations teams to optimize processes.
Handle customer inquiries and provide exceptional service to clients.
Resolve any conflicts or issues that arise during the transportation process.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Assist with the planning and forecasting of transportation needs.
Utilize dispatch software and technology to enhance operational efficiency.
Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics or a related field is a plus.
Previous experience in dispatching or logistics, preferably in the trucking industry.
Strong understanding of transportation regulations and industry standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using dispatch software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Flexible availability, including the potential for evening and weekend shifts.
