Owner-Operators (26ftBox,Reefer,Flatbed,DryVan) | OTR Jobs in Chicago, IL at NorthStar
This is a true independent contractor position. You run your business — we keep you loaded with consistent freight, handle the paperwork side, and pay you fast.
Pay & Perks:
- 80% of load gross pay — no hidden splits, you’ll know the payout before you accept any load
- Weekly settlements
- Fuel card provided with discount network access at partner truck stops (cuts your per-gallon cost; fuel spend is deducted from your settlement — this is a cash-flow convenience and discount, not a subsidy)
- No forced dispatch — you choose your loads
- Dedicated dispatch support for load booking and issue resolution
- Consistent freight volume — we’re actively scaling and have lanes to fill
Requirements:
- Your own truck (owned or on a compliant lease) matching one of the equipment types above. Owner-Operator – 26ft Box Truck, Reefer, Flatbed, Hotshot, Semi
- Valid CDL where required by your equipment/state
- Current insurance meeting FMCSA minimums
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check
- No authority needed — lease on to our active MC and start hauling under our operating authority.
- Willingness to run OTR (multi-state, extended time away from home)

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, not an employee position. Owner-Operators are responsible for their own fuel, maintenance, and insurance costs. Fuel card provides cash-flow convenience and network fuel discounts, deducted from settlement.
Pay: $3,000.00 – $7,500.00 per week
