Overview
As an Owner Operator Driver, you will play a crucial role in the transportation and logistics industry, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of freight across various routes. This position requires a self-motivated individual who possesses strong driving skills and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards. You will be responsible for operating different types of trailers and trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks.
Responsibilities
Safely operate a cargo van or other designated vehicles to transport freight to various locations.
Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of all materials.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours worked and mileage driven.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving on public roads.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Skills
Proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles is essential.
Experience operating various types of trailers such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of freight handling procedures and best practices for loading/unloading cargo.
Excellent navigation skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS technology effectively.
Ability to work independently while managing time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills to address any issues that may arise during transport.
Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
