We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage freight operations effectively. The Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of service.
Responsibilities
Operate commercial vehicles, including flatbed and refrigerated trailers, in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
Safely load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage during transit.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules while considering traffic patterns and road conditions.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours driven, mileage, and fuel consumption.
Communicate with dispatchers regarding any delays or issues encountered during transport.
Adhere to company policies and procedures related to safety, compliance, and customer service.
Skills
Proficient in driving manual transmission vehicles.
Experience operating forklifts for loading and unloading freight.
Knowledge of route driving techniques and best practices for efficient delivery operations.
Previous experience as a delivery driver with a strong understanding of freight handling procedures.
Ability to load and unload various types of cargo safely and efficiently.
Valid commercial driving license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Familiarity with flatbed trucking operations is a plus.
Experience with refrigerated trailers is advantageous but not required.
