Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Over the Road Truck Driver to join our team. This position involves long-distance driving, transporting freight across various states while ensuring timely and safe delivery. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various types of trucks and trailers.
Duties
Operate a tractor-trailer or flatbed truck to transport goods over long distances.
Load and unload freight using forklifts or manual methods as required.
Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding transportation and safety.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, rest periods, and cargo details as mandated by law.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit.
Safely operate various types of trailers including refrigerated trailers and roll-off trucks.
Handle manual transmission vehicles proficiently.
Requirements
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Experience in truck driving.
Familiarity with freight handling procedures and safety protocols.
Strong understanding of manual transmission operation.
Ability to work independently while adhering to schedules and deadlines.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Willingness to travel extensively, often for extended periods.
