Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled OTR (Over-the-Road) Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight across long distances while ensuring the safety and timely delivery of goods. This role requires a strong commitment to following all transportation regulations and maintaining a high standard of professionalism on the road.
Responsibilities
Operate various types of trucks, including flatbed, dump truck, refrigerated trailer, and tanker vehicles.
Execute route driving efficiently, adhering to scheduled delivery times.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
Manage freight loading and unloading, ensuring proper handling of goods.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and fuel consumption as per DOT regulations.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding any issues or delays encountered during transport.
Navigate using GPS systems and maps to optimize delivery routes.
Uphold company policies and procedures while on the road.
Requirements
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Experience in delivery driving or route driving preferred.
Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
Ability to work independently for extended periods while maintaining focus on tasks.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and routes as needed.
