Senior Inventory Accountant
Key Responsibilities:
– Apply and implement cost accounting methods tailored to meet the company’s needs.
– Develop and maintain data systems for cost accounting and inventory management.
– Analyze landed costs and assess the impact of freight and tariffs on inventory.
– Review job orders for accuracy and resolve issues related to inventory quantities and costs.
– Investigate and correct inventory variances and inaccuracies within work-in-process.
– Monitor and report on unit cost variances and inventory valuations.
– Report on inventory turnover every month.
– Develop automated processes for reporting.
– Improve the ERP system’s processing of inventory transactions.
– Set up non-inventory items within the ERP system.
– Support acquisitions as needed.
– Develop efficient processes for managing non-routine transactions.
– Create a company-wide Job Order process.
– Establish a company-wide Landed Cost process.
– Validate the cost of goods sold during the month-end close process.
– Adjust inventory quantities and costs as necessary.
– Assist in calculating reserves for obsolete and slow-moving inventory.
– Reclassify inventory between item numbers and maintain accurate records.
– Help resolve variances between perpetual records and physical/cycle counts.
– Prepare and report on inventory transactions, including margins by product line and location.
– Reconcile inventory-related accounts and maintain inventory lead sheets.
– Record and process all inventory-related journal entries.
– Assist in preparing financial statements and accompanying footnotes.
– Provide reports and schedules for bank reporting and external auditors.
– Support the finance team with additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
– 2-5 years of experience in cost accounting focusing on inventory management.
– Strong understanding of cost accounting methods and general ledger processes.
– Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced with ERP systems.
– Ability to analyze data, identify variances, and effectively resolve issues.

Pay: Up to $85,000.00 per year
