JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, manage, and develop a team of logistics coordinators, warehouse staff, and drivers. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide ongoing training, and motivate the team to ensure high levels of productivity and morale.
Work closely with other departments such as sales, customer service, and procurement to ensure smooth coordination between logistics operations and other business functions.
Identify opportunities for operational improvements, implementing best practices that drive efficiency and reduce costs, while ensuring service quality.
Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance, conducting regular audits and ensuring all team members are trained on safe practices.
Oversee shift planning and resource allocation to ensure adequate staffing during peak periods and the seamless operation of logistics functions.
Act as the primary point of contact for key clients regarding logistics and supply chain needs. Ensure timely communication and resolve any logistical challenges promptly, maintaining a high level of client satisfaction.
Provide clients with regular updates on delivery status, inventory levels, and any potential issues that may affect their operations. Create and present reports on logistics performance metrics, service quality, and delivery timelines.
Tailor logistics processes and solutions to meet specific client needs. Work with clients to understand their business requirements and recommend customized logistics strategies.
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues efficiently and professionally, ensuring long-term client satisfaction and retention.
Work closely with the inventory and procurement teams to ensure accurate stock levels, timely order fulfillment, and optimal inventory turnover, forecasting future needs based on client demands and business trends.
Regularly solicit feedback from clients to identify areas for improvement in service delivery. Use this feedback to make data-driven decisions that enhance logistics operations and customer satisfaction.
Constantly evaluate logistics processes and seek ways to enhance client experience by improving speed, accuracy, and efficiency of deliveries.
QUALIFICATION
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 3 years of relevant leadership experience; experience in a shared services setup within logistics or freight forwarding is preferred.
Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and projects.
Strong knowledge of logistics software (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP systems).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
Ability to quickly adopt and apply technology solutions to improve productivity and efficiency.
Solid understanding of the shipping business and related processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems.
