Job Summary

In this position, you’ll oversee the operational engine of our asset‑based trucking company-ensuring freight moves efficiently, assets are maximized, safety and compliance remain top‑tier, and financial and service‑performance goals are consistently met. You’ll guide cross‑functional teams across dispatch, driver team, maintenance, safety, and customer service, driving continuous improvement, and building a culture where operational excellence and teamwork go hand‑in‑hand.
Duties
Operational Leadership
- Lead and manage daily trucking operations, ensuring efficient use of fleet assets, drivers, and facilities.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that improve service levels, reduce costs, and maximize profitability.
- Monitor and refine dispatch, routing, and load-planning processes to drive high asset utilization and on‑time performance.
Driver & Fleet Management
- Work with HR to make sure you have the labor needed to get the job done.
- Ensure fleet capacity meets business needs; coordinate with our vendors to minimize downtime and improve availability.
- Establish and enforce our safety culture in all driver and operations teams.
- Have critical conversations when needed and document them.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and all federal/state/local regulations.
- Oversee safety programs including training, audits, incident review, and corrective action.
- Maintain accurate operational records, logs, and reporting standards.
Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to support new business, pricing initiatives, and service improvement programs.
- Resolve escalated customer issues with urgency and professionalism.
Financial & Performance Management
- Track and analyze KPIs including utilization, revenue per truck, fuel efficiency, safety metrics, and maintenance costs.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts across the organization using data-driven decision-making.
Technology & Process Improvement
- Champion the use of transportation management systems (TMS), ELD platforms, routing tools, AI, and fleet‑management technology.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve communication, and enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications – Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4+ years of management experience in trucking, transportation, or logistics operations.
- Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and trucking industry best practices.
- Proven results in managing fleets, dispatch, safety, and driver performance.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and team‑building skills.
- Experience managing KPIs, and operational analytics.
Qualifications – Preferred
- Familiarity with PCS , GEOTAB and Netradyne.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement background.
