About the Role…

We are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Manager to lead our Texas operations. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who combines strong operational expertise with the ability to lead, develop and inspire high-performing teams.

The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day freight forwarding operations across Air, Ocean and Ground services while managing internal operational teams, department leaders and customer service functions. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, drives operational excellence, and delivers exceptional service to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all freight forwarding operations across import and export activities.
  • Oversee Air Freight, Ocean Freight and Domestic Transportation operational teams.
  • Manage and develop department supervisors, operations staff and customer service teams along with pricing & tender management
  • Ensure shipments are executed efficiently, accurately and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Drive operational performance through KPI management, process improvement and best practices.
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration with sales and continuous drive towards securing new business.
  • Manage carrier relationships and support strategic procurement initiatives where required.
  • Resolve complex operational challenges and customer escalations.
  • Monitor profitability, operational costs and resource planning.
  • Ensure compliance with TSA, FMC, CBP, IATA and all relevant transportation regulations.
  • Lead recruitment, coaching, performance management and succession planning for operational teams.

Required Experience:

  • 8+ years of freight forwarding experience.
  • 3–5+ years in an Operations Manager, Branch Manager or Freight Forwarding Manager leadership role and or supervisor / team lead
  • Strong operational knowledge across Air Freight, Ocean Freight and Customs Brokerage processes.
  • Proven experience managing multiple operational teams and department leaders.
  • Experience improving operational efficiency and implementing standardized processes.
  • Strong understanding of freight forwarding systems and transportation management platforms.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading operations for global freight forwarding organization.
  • Knowledge of CTPAT, Hazmat and DG regulations.
  • Experience with CargoWise One or similar freight forwarding software.

  • Base Salary: $130,000–$160,000, depending on experience.
