Job Summary
Accelerated, Inc. is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and optimize our logistics and transportation operations. The Operations Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day functions of the terminal, ensuring smooth operations, cost efficiency, and service excellence. Reporting directly to the Terminal Manager, this role involves supervising personnel, managing dispatch and freight movement, maintaining compliance, and collaborating with corporate leadership. While the Terminal Manager sets expectations, the Operations Manager will work closely with corporate stakeholders—including safety, sales, and executive leadership—to align station performance with company objectives. Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Workforce Management
Supervise and develop City Drivers, Linehaul Drivers, dock personnel, and office staff
Ensure optimal staffing levels to maintain efficient and reliable service; if not, communicate this to the Terminal Manager.
Cultivate a high-performance culture through leadership, motivation, and accountability
Enforce company policies and compliance with TSA, OSHA, FMCSA, and other regulatory agencies
Operational Excellence & Cost Control
Identify and implement cost-saving measures across all operational areas
Maintain oversight of dispatch, pickups, and deliveries, ensuring accurate POD documentation
Reduce misrouted and damaged freight
All loss and damage must be communicated to OS&D agent
Safety & Compliance
Oversee regular vehicle, trailer, and equipment inspections
Partner with the Safety Director to ensure compliance and maintenance programs are executed
Ensure staff adheres to all corporate safety protocols and training requirements
Customer & Sales Collaboration
Work alongside your Terminal Manager to maintain and expand the customer base
Participate in customer engagement alongside your Terminal Manager and the sales department
Respond promptly and professionally to customer and internal communications
Financial & Performance Oversight
Maintain daily oversight of the Unprocessed Report to maximize revenue
Drive operational efficiency, accuracy, and profitability
Company Engagement & Communication
Lead and participate in weekly management calls, contributing to company growth discussions
Foster a solutions-oriented mindset, encouraging creative problem-solving and continuous improvement
Champion a team-first attitude, ensuring that employees remain the company’s most valuable asset
Qualifications
3-5 years LTL transportation industry experience, air freight experience is a must.
Previous trucking management experience preferred.
Hands on – ability to manage and operate in office and warehouse environment effectively and efficiently.
Fast-paced environment and must be able to meet deadlines.
Proven sales experience in both face-to-face interactions and phone-based communication.
Excellent communication skills are a must.
Working knowledge of DOT regulations
Must pass company background check and drug screen
