Key Responsibilities
- Manage international ocean import shipments from origin through to final delivery.
- Coordinate with overseas agents, shipping lines, customs brokers, truckers, and customers.
- Prepare and process all import documentation including Bills of Lading, Arrival Notices, Delivery Orders, and invoices.
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively communicate updates to customers.
- Arrange customs clearance and ensure compliance with CBP regulations.
- Coordinate final delivery and resolve any shipment delays or issues.
- Accurately enter shipment information into the company’s freight forwarding system.
- Invoice files promptly and ensure profitability targets are achieved.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and overseas partners.
- Ensure all files are completed accurately and closed within company KPIs.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in ocean imports within an international freight forwarding company.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping documentation and import procedures.
- Experience handling shipments from A-Z.
- Understanding of customs clearance processes and CBP regulations.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using CargoWise or another freight forwarding system is preferred.
