Overview:
A growing international freight forwarding and logistics company is looking for an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator to join its Houston-area team.
This is a hands-on role managing ocean import shipments from pre-alert through final delivery, working closely with customers, overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, truckers and internal teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate end-to-end ocean import shipments
- Manage arrival notices, vessel schedules and delivery arrangements
- Prepare and review import documentation
- Coordinate with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers and truckers
- Track shipments and proactively manage delays/issues
- Monitor customs clearance and cargo availability
- Arrange final delivery and ensure documentation is completed accurately
- Maintain accurate shipment records and support billing
Requirements:
- 2+ years’ ocean import/freight forwarding experience
- Strong knowledge of ocean import processes and documentation
- Experience working with ocean carriers/NVOCCs
- Familiarity with customs clearance procedures
- CargoWise experience
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments
