GENERAL POSITION OVERVIEW
The Equipment Coordinator for Genset and Chassis is primarily responsible for the daily monitoring, planning and management of Genset and chassis equipment assets within the scope of the company’s guidelines and procedures. To ensure operational efficiency while monitoring costs to minimize expenditures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
Monitor Genset and chassis equipment inventories daily and determine needs based on provided factors
Assist truckers, shippers and internal departments with specialized equipment issues
Work closely with intermodal equipment providers to procure required chassis
Manage genset lease orders and terminations based on contractual terms
Analyze data and projections to forecast equipment demand
Closely monitor and report on idling, damaged and missing assets
Communicate and work closely with other departments and external vendors to fulfill required duties
Prepare, monitor and analyze weekly reports as set forth by management in line with KPI’s
In depth review and strict invoice auditing of vendors and dispute discrepancies
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Must have good Interpersonal skills and good communication skills both verbally and written
Must be a self-starter and able to work individually and in a team environment
Be able to handle heavy email traffic
Knowledge of Logistics, Transportation, or fleet management a plus
Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel / Word)
Must be able to multi-task and problem solve
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field, or High School diploma/GED and equivalent experience required.
Experience in the container shipping or related industry preferred
