Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Ocean Export Specialist to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be the key driver behind the efficient management of ocean freight exports, ensuring seamless coordination between clients, carriers, and internal departments. Your expertise in international shipping logistics, trade compliance, and supply chain management will be essential to delivering exceptional service and optimizing transportation processes. Duties
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of ocean export shipments, including booking cargo space with carriers and NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers)
- Prepare and review shipping documentation such as bills of lading, export licenses, customs declarations, and trade compliance paperwork
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), and CRM software to track shipments, update clients, and ensure accurate data entry
- Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and freight forwarders to optimize pricing and service levels
- Collaborate with sales teams on lead generation, account management, and developing new business opportunities in the B2B freight forwarding logistics sector
- Maintain compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements across different regions
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating proactively with clients regarding shipment status, delays, or issues
Qualifications
- Proven experience in logistics company operations, freight brokerage, or 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) environments focusing on ocean export or shipping logistics
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, transportation planning, and international trade regulations
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, EDI, AS400, and Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent negotiation skills paired with a customer-centric approach to client relationship management
- Demonstrated ability in sales management, inside sales, and freight forwarding logistics sales strategies
- Experience working with NVOCCs, air freight options, freight forwarding logistics, and carrier sales is highly desirable
- Ability to handle complex contracts, pricing negotiations, and lead generation activities effectively
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and internal coordination in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $52,413.96 – $63,122.20 per year
