Overview:
My client, a growing international freight forwarding and logistics company, is looking for an experienced Ocean Export Coordinator to join its Houston-area team.
This is a hands-on role managing ocean export shipments from booking through departure, working closely with customers, carriers, truckers, overseas agents and internal teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate end-to-end ocean export shipments
- Manage carrier bookings, cut-offs and vessel schedules
- Prepare and review export documentation
- Coordinate with customers, carriers, terminals and overseas agents
- Track shipments and proactively manage delays/issues
- Handle Bills of Lading, Shipping Instructions and AES/EEI
- Maintain accurate shipment records and support billing
Requirements:
- 2+ years’ ocean export/freight forwarding experience
- Experience with CargoWise
- Strong knowledge of export documentation and processes
- Experience working with ocean carriers/NVOCCs
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments
