Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, during overnight routes across regional or over-the-road (OTR) driving routes
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured according to logistics cargo handling standards
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, checking for mechanical issues and ensuring compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Load and unload freight efficiently, maintaining proper documentation for each shipment while adhering to truck loading and unloading protocols
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and compliance with DOT regulationsRequirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record and endorsements for hazardous materials if applicable
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially in delivery driving or route driving roles
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, and safety standards for truck driving
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and perform manual handling tasks safe
- Excellent physical stamina for load & unload duties and manual handling tasks
