Duties
- Conduct thorough diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components using schematics and specialized tools.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers to ensure optimal performance.
- Fabricate and modify parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to meet specific operational requirements.
- Replace or repair vehicle systems including brakes, suspensions, shocks & struts, air brakes, HVAC systems, and alignments.
- Assist with tire service, wheel balancing, and heavy lifting tasks to support equipment mobility and safety.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed for compliance and future reference.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications while providing excellent customer service to clients on-site.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy truck repair and automotive diagnostics.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical systems repair.
- Proficiency with schematics reading and troubleshooting complex vehicle systems using power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery with safety awareness.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and assembly of mechanical components.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during maintenance procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with effective communication to explain repairs clearly to clients or team members.
